What to Expect from Luxury Log Cabins
Luxury log cabins are springing up all over the UK, they can be found from the most Southern areas of Britain right up to the Northern tips of Scotland. If you book up a log cabin holiday and choose the luxury cabin option what can you expect? Here are six things that I’d expect:
A Log Burner
I like going to log cabins in Scotland – I also like to visit it in the off-season when it’s quieter. Unfortunately this usually means it is also colder… a lot colder so to be able to go ‘home’ after a day of walking in the hills and spark up the log burner is fantastic.
Flat screen LCD TV and DVD
Many luxury log cabins will have an LCD TV that’s hooked up to satellite or freeview and a DVD player. If the weathers bad or you just want to relax, having home-from-home facilities is great.
Entertainment System
Some cabins will come with entertainment systems – such as a Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3. This might not be your idea of fun but it may keep younger members of the party quiet for a while!
Fully Equipped kitchen
A fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, microwave, over, grill and dishwasher will mean that there are no limitations as to what you can cook. So if cooking’s your thinking you’ll be heaven!
Hot Tub
Perhaps the one feature that’s unique to UK log cabins is the hot tub on the decking. There not many self catering cottages that can offer the sort of views a log cabin can, and certainly not from a hot tub. Don’t be fooled in to thinking that if you go on holiday in the winter months that you won’t be using it – I can guarantee that you will, and if you think ‘no way’ then you should definitely try it.
