When redecorating my new house last year I had to go through many catalogues and websites trying to find the perfect pieces of furniture for every space that I was trying to fill with something to really set the place off. I didn’t find it all that hard most of the time with a perfect design being available most needs. What I have most trouble with was finding a table for the spaces that were too small for a traditional piece and found myself gravitating towards the console table for several spots that needed filling.
I had always thought of the console table as a device that was to be used in the hall as a place to sit a telephone and perhaps throw your keys as you come in the door. For the epitome of style you might want to opt for the hand painted, half-moon design. Expect to pay about $400 for a top quality example but by buying one of these you will instantly have added pure Italian elegance to your home.
