Using The Track Lighting System For Kitchen Design

In the matter of kitchen design, the ideal solutions generally offer both value and versatility. Thus the track lighting system designed by Pottery Barn would seem deserving of the label “ideal.” The track creators have described their solution as “a cut above” the lighting arrangement used with other kitchen layouts.

The homeowner that pays for one of these track lighting systems does not have to chose a hanging fixture from a limited lighting selection. That homeowner can pick a hanging light from among 15 different pendants and spotlights.

The PB lighting track has a flexible line voltage design. Therefore, a redesigned kitchen can have multiple lights at any point along that flexible line. The lighting fixtures come in polished nickel, satin nickel and bronze.

When redesigning a kitchen, one should strive to maximize the storage space within the food preparation area. Pottery Barn makes a lovely stainless steel unit for wall storage of kitchen items. This storage unit includes a wine glass holder. That holder fits underneath a stainless steel shelf.

Representatives from the “Barn” searched high and low for what they viewed as the “ideal” kitchen table. They finally settled on the high table used at more than one trend setting restaurant. Therefore, their vision of a finshed kitchen design included a wooden Balboa table.

The PB catalogue shows a Balboa table sitting in front of a stove and oven combination. A fan above the stove can be used to remove any smoke that comes from the oven. Possible smoke from the oven has been an issue that some builders have failed to take into account.

That failure often goes overlooked, when a family takes a tour through a smoke free home. The problems that result from such a failure only become evident later, if and when the family cook choses to prepare a steak, using the broiler in the wall oven.

At least one Pennsylvania builder has forgotten to put a fan in the vicinity of a wall oven, the oven in one of that builder’s kitchens. At least one Pennsylvania housewife would give that builder an “F” in kitchen design.
