The Wardrobe Armoire and Other Wooden Antique Furniture

Some of the coolest furniture I’ve ever seen wasn’t a fancy new Ikea desk or a see through glass coffee table with lime stone blocks inserted at each corner. That type of furniture is cool and does have it’s place, but for myself personally, I prefer furniture that has stood the test of time. Furniture that’s made of solid wood and is going to last a long, long time. If that’s the kind of furniture and decor you prefer for your home, then there’s only one way to go: wooden antique furniture.

When many people think of wood antique furniture, they imagine some dusty relics they once saw in their parents home as a child. But antique furniture that is cared for and maintained is what I’m talking about here. With the proper care, antique furniture can in one way feel just as new as something is in fact new, yet retain that antique spirit at the same time.

If you’re interested in antique furniture, here are some wonderful areas to start with.

Antique Wardrobe Armoire
The antique wardrobe armoire is practically the cream of the crop when it comes to antique furniture. Versatile for different storage uses, yet it looks good enough to sit in any room of the home; you cannot go wrong with a wardrobe armoire.

Wooden Wardrobe Closet
A wooden wardrobe closet is similar to an armoire yet a bit more of a modern, yet still old, piece. A good wooden wardrobe closet designed specifically for holding clothes is a wonderful addition to any bedroom or guest room.

Jewelry Chest
An old fashioned jewelry chest is a wonderful way to store a woman’s jewelry. Many are adorned with hand carved or hand painted designs, making them all the more unique.

Corner Armoire
The corner armoire fits nicely into the living room or bedroom corner walls, snugging the two opposing walls to make the best use of an angle. Any room that needs some extra storage space can benefit from a corner armoire. At the same time they also make for a great end table and are good for storing magazines and casual reading material in the living room on hand yet out of sight.

Antique wooden furniture can add a sense of old fashion goodness to any home. Use a nice cleaning polish to bring out the wooden finish and you can make any room shine!
