The Sunbeam Water Dispenser: Reliably Great Water!
Sunbeam has been one of the most familiar names in American household products for one hundred years, ever since the brand was born as the home appliance brand of the Chicago Flexible Shaft Company. They may not be as familiar for the water dispenser as they are for such appliances as the Mixmaster mixer, the Steam Master iron, or Rocket Grill countertop griller, but Sunbeam water dispensers are simple to use and well regarded.
Perhaps the most familiar such appliance is the Hot Shot, a countertop hot water dispenser that resembles a small drip coffeemaker at first glance but actually heats sixteen ounces of water, good for a cup of hot chocolate or a cup of instant oatmeal or soup. The appliance features below-base electric cord storage and a compact design that makes it a fit either for the kitchen counter or the desktop. It sells new for as low as $14.
Sunbeam has also made a commercial-style water cooler that stores and dispenses large distilled or spring water bottles, and the storage below the dispensing unit is spacious enough to keep smaller bottles of drink cold. The appliance has received favorable reviews for its unique room-temperature dispensing as well as hot and cold taps, and for its deep-drip tray and quiet compression. The only major critiques reviewers seemed to have for this system was that dispensing time sometimes slowed, but otherwise it was considered easy to operate and maintain.
However, Sunbeam also makes a bottle-less water dispenser, which had to be hooked to a home or office plumbing system to operate properly but otherwise operates smoothly and with very little known maintenance trouble, even with its triple-filtration system beneath the dispensing unit. The machine also received high marks from reviewers for its ultraviolet light and a reverse osmosis water filter, which was designed to kill lingering bacteria in water before the water was dispensed. This machine also features the room-temperature option for water dispensing.
