Weight Loss Tips: Be Persistent

Posted in Weight Loss on February 7th, 2011 by Jim – Comments Off

Weight loss tips are a dime a dozen and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another. This particular tip will work for everyone and luckily applies to all aspects of life not just health and fitness.

Persistence is quite possibly the most important aspect of fitness and anything else for that matter. A little bit on a regular basis adds up to a lot in the long run. If you consistently spend the time in the gym and eating the right foods you are constantly building on the foundation of the past.

If you backslide on a regular basis you are continually starting with a new foundation. You are essentially starting form zero every time you backslide. If you want to reach your goals you must put in the time. You must get to the gym when its cold, you must go after a hard day at work, you must make it a habit. You must continue to deliver. Even if you just do a little bit or have a bad workout the mental aspect is just as important as the physical aspect.

If you can overcome the mental aspect of being persistent and consistent you can literally move mountains. So, right now make the commitment to do a little bit everyday, even if it is only a slow run for 10 minutes after a hard day. And, make the commitment to stick to an eating plan. This doesn’t have to be overly rigged. It can be as simple as not eating fried food or refusing to gorge, just stand by your plan with commitment.

Anyone who has achieved any kind of greatness will quickly acknowledge the important roll that persistence played in their success. Great people are not great due to luck alone. They know the value of hard work and they know that hard work pays off. Learn a lesson from the greats and be persistent at all times about everything that you do.

11 Day Diet Plan

11 Day Diet Plan Rule 1 – No Carbs

The first rule of this diet is to get rid of the carbohydrates in your diet. This means no white sugar,  white flour, bread, pasta, or rice. Basically any food that is white should be skipped.  Instead, replace your carbs with healthy alternatives like quinoa.

11 Day Diet Plan Rule 2 – Lots of Water

You want to clear your body of toxins and flush the fat and calories out of your body, so drink as much water as you can. Water is a great dieting trick for filling your stomach as well. For example, before you eat any meal, drink a large glass of water. Then your stomach will feel full faster when you go to eat your meal.

11 Day Diet Plan Rule 3 – Exercise + 10,000 Steps

You need to get moving and exercise to lose weight. You should try to do a cardio workout for at least 30 minutes, and a minimum of 15 minutes of weight resistance training. Also, you need to take at least 10,000 steps a day. A few tricks for walking more steps is to take the stairs instead of the elevator or park further away from the entrance when you go shopping.

Weight loss help for women

Posted in Weight Loss on January 24th, 2010 by Jim – Comments Off

Women are more anxious to find weight loss tips to help them fight those extra pounds. This is because their appearance has a greater impact on their psychology and confidence. Women who are overweight or obese have low self esteem and this affects many aspects on their life. Generally women are more vulnerable in gaining extra weight than men because they have more muscles than men and because of the hormonal changes they undergo very often in their life due to period, pregnancy and menopause.

Weight loss for women is not easy but for sure it is not something that cannot be achieved provided that there is willpower and patience. Women and generally people who want to lose weight should do it gradually and by following healthy weight loss tips and not any of the miraculous products in the market. This is the only way to achieve long lasting results. The most common weight loss tips are explained below.

  1. Minimize the consumption of foods that are full-fat. One of the characteristics of women as regards weight and fat is that they tend to accumulate fat in the waist and in the belly area. Due to the nature of their body this is easier in women than men. As a first step to reverse this situation and be able to lose weight and get rid of fat is to minimize the consumption of foods that contain fat. Such foods include red meat, dairy products, sweets and junk food. By not consuming these type of food and replacing them with fat burners like peers, broccoli, fruits, vegetables, fish and lean meat you help your body burn calories easier and in the long term this will have a positive effect on your appearance and weight.
  2. Increase the consumption of water. Almost all people know the importance of water in weight loss; still a few of them consume the required amount of water on a daily basis. For achieving good weight loss results you need to try and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Water among other things will drive away all toxins from your body.
  3. We said above that women gain weight more easily than men because they have fewer muscles. The reasoning behind this is that muscles are the tools of the body to fight fat and burn more calories. The more muscles you have the easier and faster this process is. The only way to build more muscle is through exercise and physical activity. Fortunately most women like exercise but because they do not have enough time, they do not exercise regularly. It is important that women exercise for at least 3 times per week for 20-30 minutes. This will keep their body active and gradually more muscles will take the place of fat.

Women should not get disappointed and give up. By trying hard and having the necessary patience and will power the good results will eventually come.
