Weight Loss Tips: Be Persistent
Posted in Weight Loss on February 7th, 2011 by Jim – Comments OffWeight loss tips are a dime a dozen and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another. This particular tip will work for everyone and luckily applies to all aspects of life not just health and fitness.
Persistence is quite possibly the most important aspect of fitness and anything else for that matter. A little bit on a regular basis adds up to a lot in the long run. If you consistently spend the time in the gym and eating the right foods you are constantly building on the foundation of the past.
If you backslide on a regular basis you are continually starting with a new foundation. You are essentially starting form zero every time you backslide. If you want to reach your goals you must put in the time. You must get to the gym when its cold, you must go after a hard day at work, you must make it a habit. You must continue to deliver. Even if you just do a little bit or have a bad workout the mental aspect is just as important as the physical aspect.
If you can overcome the mental aspect of being persistent and consistent you can literally move mountains. So, right now make the commitment to do a little bit everyday, even if it is only a slow run for 10 minutes after a hard day. And, make the commitment to stick to an eating plan. This doesn’t have to be overly rigged. It can be as simple as not eating fried food or refusing to gorge, just stand by your plan with commitment.
Anyone who has achieved any kind of greatness will quickly acknowledge the important roll that persistence played in their success. Great people are not great due to luck alone. They know the value of hard work and they know that hard work pays off. Learn a lesson from the greats and be persistent at all times about everything that you do.
