Posted in Weddings on June 30th, 2010 by Jim – Comments Off

Spring is a great season to celebrate weddings and ceremonies. A wedding itself symbolizes a new beginning in life, and to celebrate a wedding in spring when life begins anew, makes perfect sense. A great place to start building your wedding theme is the making of the spring wedding centerpieces. Seasonal flowers and different types of seeds and plants are natural things that can be arranged into stunning wedding centerpieces.

Talking about seasonal flowers, tulips, bulbs and daffodils are the most commonly used spring blossoms and are capable of emerging as some of the best wedding centerpieces. As floral arrangements are generally widely used in wedding centerpieces, spring blossom arrangements can be one of the most convenient options available. This works especially well if you have a florist friend alongside you or if you are creative and knowledgeable about floral arrangements.

Here’s a word of caution regarding flowers – bulbs and other flowers of spring have a comparatively short life span when separated from the plant. It is advisable to seek professional opinion from an experienced florist before you decide on what flowers to use on your wedding centerpieces.

When you’re thinking about flowers, think about small plants. Tiny plants with blooming flowers are one of the best wedding centerpieces for a spring wedding. Since the newly wedded couple celebrates a new beginning in their life, nothing can express the concept more than the blooming flowers of a small plant.

Arranged bowls of seeds with a touch of greenery can be a great spring wedding centerpiece idea. Since spring marks the beginning of new life, seeds can be handy wedding favors as well. With some creative thinking, even plant seeds alone can be turned into beautiful centerpiece arrangements.

Being consistent with one type of blossom throughout all the wedding decorations is a way to integrate simplicity and elegance in making your ordinary ideas into some of the best wedding centerpieces. Uniqueness and creativity are two more important aspects for your centerpieces to be memorable.

The best centerpieces for a spring wedding are not always created around greenery and blossoms. They are not the only option, although a touch of nature’s beauty can boost the mood and the tone of the reception party by a great deal. Anything that blends well with the colors of the hall or the other decorations qualifies for a place in wedding centerpiece designs.

Wedding centerpieces are meant to lift the spirit of the reception, just like spring does to the environment. There is not be a better period of time to celebrate an outdoor wedding, than spring. There are plenty of great spring wedding centerpieces and ideas that can portray the natural beauty of the season together with the elegance of a wedding.

Some Thoughts On Wedding Centerpieces

Getting married is a hugely important step in a women’s life so the ceremony and the reception need to be stylish and elegant to match up to everything she has dreamed of up until now. Planning a wedding is probably one of life’s biggest projects as there are so many things to organise from the dress to the church to the food to the decorations. Often with so many wedding supplies to think about, smaller items such as the centerpieces for weddings can get forgotten. But these form focal points during the reception and it is often the attention to the smaller details that makes the difference between a day never to be forgotten and a day where the memories get fuzzy with age.

Wedding centrepieces should complement all of the wedding decorations. They should normally all follow a single theme so once this has been decided upon, the details for each item can fall into place. So for a beach themed wedding, the invitations, the flowers, the decorations, the centrepieces, the wedding cake topper and the favors will all have a beach feel, whether this be of shells, starfish, seahorses or many of the other ideas you could come up with.

Wedding centrepieces will receive a lot of attention during the reception as they will stand proud in the center of the reception tables. As such it is worth spending some time to come up with a display you are happy with. This does not just mean something that is attractive in its own right, but something that is co-ordinated with your theme. You also need to pay attention to the size of the tables at your wedding venue and how much space the other items on the table will occupy. You do not want to end up with an over-stuffed table where none of the table linen is showing or where guests cannot see each other across the table.

The last thing to decide with wedding table centerpieces is how many of them you need. It is becoming customary to have one on each guest table as well as at the guest book table, the cake table and at other pertinent points around the reception room.

Creative Ideas For Wedding Favor Centerpieces

One way to cut down on the ever increasing costs of a wedding is to combine several ideas into one. You can, for example, have your wedding centerpieces double as your wedding favors – or even (gasp) triple as your table numbers or name cards even! It can be done; it just takes a little creative thinking.

For unique wedding favor centerpieces, why not use wine bottles as favors for your guests? Whether full size or smaller, you can replace the labels with the table numbers – or menu even. An arrangement of the bottles amongst flowers and candles in the center of the table would be beautiful or you can have the flowers be the favors. For example, why not plant a take-home garden in the center of the table? From afar it looks like a solid box of flowers – up close however, you’ll notice the individual pots for each guest to take home.  Another idea would be to center your tables with multi-level trays of decadent desserts – some sweets are just too beautiful to eat! Leave small Chinese take-out boxes or foldable mini cake boxes on the tables for the guests to take the treats home in.

On almost any wedding favor website you can find “cake boxes,” these gorgeous little boxes form a “cake” when put together on a platter. Fill them with anything you desire! Just remember to light everything properly with candles and use mirrors wisely to reflect that beautiful light back onto your unique centerpieces! (Even your candles when done right, can be the take-home favor of the night.)

Wedding favor centerpieces can make beautiful centerpieces when done correctly. As always, remember to have fun and be creative with your decisions – think out of the box a little bit and you can make people remember your wedding for years to come!
