If you are thinking of installing an in ground swimming pool in your backyard, a fiberglass pool is just exactly what you need to have. However, the cost of pool installation would always keep you away from your dream of having your own pool at home. This is true because to own a pool, is a huge investment which means that you will have to put up a large amount of money to finance it. Depending on the material used to build your pool, prices will vary and you should have to prepare for it.

Let us assume that you would want to install a fiberglass pool. Fiberglass is considered as the best material for an in ground swimming pool because of its quality and durability. However, the issue about fiber glass pools is its cost. Fiberglass pool price is considerably higher than what you will have to pay for vinyl and gunite pools. The fiberglass shell, the size and shape of your pool, and the labor expenses are the factors which will greatly influence the price for the installation of your fiberglass swimming pool.

The fiberglass shell is one important factor which affects fiberglass inground pool pricing. The price of the shell depends on its size and shape. This would mean that the smaller the shell, the lesser it will cost. The more basic shape it has, its price will be lowered as well. So if you are on a budget, you may install a fiberglass pool which is smaller in size and most like a basic rectangular in shape will not cost much compared to other shapes and designs. However, if you have enough money to finance your pool, you can customize it in any way you want.

The other factors which will affect the total cost of your fiberglass pool are included in the labor expenditures – from excavation, back fill, filling of water, the installation of filters, electrical system, pool accessories and the pavers or pool coping surrounding your in ground pool. All these will require an experienced professional, expert that is, to do the job. In this situation, it is best that you get your pool in one package from a company who can do everything from excavation to installation down to the wrings and landscaping. Yes it will not be cheap, in fact it will be the most expensive part however, it is the only way that you can be assured of a good quality job since your pool were installed by professionals.

For a fiberglass pool, you will have to prepare 30,000 to 40,000 dollars more or less. It will really cost you a fortune however with all the pleasure and endless recreation you can get out of your in ground fiber glass pool, the beauty that it will bring and the resale value that it will add to your home, and with the quality and durability of your pool guaranteed to last for so many years under little maintenance, everything will be priceless, every penny you have spent for your fiber glass pool will be worth it.

Why Do People Use Pool Chemicals?

Posted in Garden on May 20th, 2010 by Jim – Comments Off

There isn’t much of a point in owning a pool if you aren’t able to maintain it to a point where it’s safe, hygienic and enjoyable to use. As a result, you ought to know how to clean your pool and one of the most effective and cost efficient methods are using swimming pool chemicals designed to keep your pool as good as new.

Firstly, a common chemical used to ensure that your pool is not infested with algae is ‘concentrated algaecide’. Be aware though, that there are two types of algae that can make your pool an eyesore. There is black algae and the green algae. Most chemicals are able to get rid of one or the other, but it isn’t difficult to find one that gets rid of both. This ensures that your water remains clear as it is not pleasant to swim in water in a pool in which you are unable to see the bottom of.

Another fairly common chemical people use to clean their pools is chlorine tablets. If you purchase this product, I recommend that you purchase in bulk so as to get a better price. You can find other pool owners and depending on the number of pool owners you can find you can buy an amount that’s suitable.

You are able to obtain chemicals that regulate the amount of bacteria. This is to ensure that you minimize chances of you falling sick whenever you want to take a relaxing dip in your pool.

Specialty chemicals can be obtained for removing stains from the sides and the bottom of your pool. Not many people are aware of this and therefore this is one aspect of pool care that is often neglected.

All in all, people use chemicals to maintain the hygiene and usability factor of it. If you own a pool, you should definitely consider the same course of action to ensure the best experience every time you or your guests want to go for a swim.

My Rant About Swimming Pools

Posted in Garden on November 21st, 2009 by admin – Comments Off

I’ve never had much of an interest in installing a swimming pool on my property for some reason. I know most people crazy at the thought of being able to take a dip but for me there are so many negatives associated with getting one that i feel it not worth the effort.

First off you need to get the pool built and that’s going to cost you a huge amount of cash. I guess I’ve just never been one for swimming so I’d rather spend that rather large chunk of change on something else, a motorbike perhaps, or maybe an new home entertainment system.

Then of course there is the cost of upkeep if you are not going to do it our self. You’ll need someone to clean your pool and use all those nasty chemicals to ensure the water isn’t a harbor for dangerous bacteria, unless of course you are willing to do all these things yourself. Plus, you are going to have to shell out for all the other extras that go along with having a pool with all those companies trying to sell you things you could probably do without such as automatic swimming pool covers, which I admit are pretty cool but I mean come on, I’ve got better things to spend my hard earned cash on.

These things definitely put me off getting a pool in the yard but perhaps the absolute biggest problem I have with them is the amount of resources that gets used in the building and maintaining of these things. The concrete that gets used to make it in the first place isn’t exactly environmentally friendly and then you have the huge amounts of water that you are literally pouring down the drain. Can’t we think of better ways to spend our resources when you could just use the swimming pool in town or take a trip to the beach.
