A Magazine File – A Great Organizing Aid
Posted in Organizing on July 22nd, 2010 by Jim – Comments OffCollecting magazines is easy as 123 because one: they are affordable; two: they are available anywhere you shop; and three: magazines cover all topics under the sun that you can always have something to interest you. But, unless you are waiting for somebody who seems to never show up, you cannot read all articles in one sitting. There are times also when you want to save articles or features so cannot just toss the magazine into the garbage bin. This is where a magazine file comes in for your disposal.
Basic Magazine Holders
Basically there are two types of magazine organizers. One is for storing up magazines that are intended for long-term storage. The other one is for short-term storage. The so-called banker’s boxes, which are simple cardboard boxes with an attached lid, and plastic boxes are good ideas keeping subscription magazines and mag collections. Plastic is better, though, since cardboard can warp after some time and attract insects. For long-term storage, a good practice would be to stack the magazine collection flat in the box. You can also systematize the storage boxes to locate magazine issues easily.
For magazines intended for everyday reading, you can use the magazine files which are shaped like half triangles wherein you can easily get from the any office supply store near you. These holders are very affordable and available in a variety of colors. They can be made of cardboard, plastic or wire mesh and displays the magazines so that it can be easily picked up and returned anytime of the day. You have a choice of either having your magazines stand so that the magazine’s spine is displayed or you can have the magazines lie on its spine.
Whether you intend to keep your mags on a long-term basis or not, you can personalize the mag files with stickers, collages, paintings, photos and other personal touch that you can imagine. There are no rules to follow, just express yourself. The basic thing here is to have your magazine file hold your reading materials firmly and ready to go anytime you want to read it.
