Simulated tanzanite rings can be created using a variety of different stones. The oldest form of what is called a lab created tanzanite simulation is known as tanzanique, created from the mineral forsterite, which is in fact a genuine stone that exists on earth thanks to meteorites. The difference is not so much about the cubic zirconia stones as it is dependant on the setting in silver or gold and the accent stones and the design, which is some cases may be very intricate and finely crafted in the same manner a genuine stone would be.
