Secrets of How to Jump Higher For Basketball

If you have ever wanted to learn to jump higher for basketball you are among millions that share the same desire.

Improving your vertical training tactics can be very beneficial for a number of reasons.  Many people are lead to believe that it is just in their innate physical biology if they can do it or not, and as a result many are lead astray from fulfilling their dreams of sports of improving their agility. I am here to tell you that this does not have to be the case.  If you follow a basic workout to increase vertical jump, you will notice a difference in your performance in no time if you stick to it.

First, remember that every single workout you ever do will need to be begun with a warm up.  Many people underestimate the importance of this simple step, but if you do not adhere you might be out of the game for months, even years, and experience permanent damage if it is extreme enough.  Vertical training requires a lot of leg stretching, and this step cannot be stressed enough.

After your warm up, consider doing some cardiovascular conditioning like jump roping.  While this might be better for a jumping exercise, any cardio is encouraged to get your leg muscles all warmed up.  Sprints are also a great way to improve.  Another simple, but very affective technique for how to jump higher is through doing stair sprints on your toes.  Sounds crazy, right?  Running up stairs though, one step at a time, can do wonders on your performance.

After building your endurance and getting a solid warm up, you can ease into elevated, explosive, and double jumps.  If you are serious about plyometric exercises, never forget that you need at least two days off every week to give your legs a break.  You will notice much better results if you allow your body to rest and recover.
