A guitar is a string based musical instrument with recorded historical involvement, in one form or another. The earliest reference to a string instrument with a resonating chamber was recorded nearly 4,000 years ago in the Indian subcontinent.

A guitar’s sound generation mechanism is actually quite spectacular in its simplicity. As a string is plucked, the resulting sound waves began to resonate inside the empty chamber of the guitar, creating a richer and more melodic tone. Humans have long realized that this tone, organized in a proper manner can produce quantitative and qualitative emotional effect to listeners.

Obviously, we have gone a long way since then. As variations of this string instrument over the centuries took on a multitude of shape and sizes, it has finally completed it’s evolution into something that we are familiar with today, which is, the acoustic guitar.

Today, guitars are made in many different shapes and sizes to accommodate the player and their preferences. Colors have become a factor especially if the guitar is for a band with a particular theme or for a certain special someone.
