Heated Car Seat Covers

Now that winter has firmly established itself as being upon us, many times just the thought of heading out for a drive can send shivers through one’s body with this kind of weather. Fortunately for those who have invested a small amount in heated car seat covers, this no longer needs to be the case. The beauty of these aftermarket seat covers with built in heaters is not only that they’re really not very expensive, but that they are so simple to put into place whether you drive a car, a truck, an RV or even a motorcycle (though why someone would choose to ride a motorcycle in the dead of winter is beyond me!)

It used to be that only people who were able to afford luxury cars, with pre-installed heated car seats, were the ones who were able to enjoy the benefits of such comfort during the winter months. It’s truly wonderful that today, you no longer need to be among the elite car owners who spend a small (and sometimes LARGE fortune) on a car simply to be comfortable during this time of the year.

Another advantage to buying a heated seat cover is that you can buy them one at a time. So if you are the only one ever riding in your car, why spend money unnecessarily, right? Plus, if you are perfectly comfortable with the temperature you can achieve in you car, yet your spouse tends to always be complaining about the cold, you can just buy one for the passenger side (sorry, but if your spouse is just always complaining… I’m not sure a heated car seat cover is going to help with all of it; but it’s a start!)

The general principle behind a heated seat cover is pretty much identical to a heated electric blanket. The seat cover is made of three layers, with the middle layer being built out of inflammable material with heating wires running through the center of it. The heating wires run through both the seat bottom as well as the back rest portion of the seat, helping to keep you thoroughly warm and toasty no matter what mother nature decides to dish out as far as the weather outside.
