Gormiti, The Invincible Lords of Nature, is an imaginary game for children. With its own cartoon, Gormiti figures and even playing cards, the game is accessible to everyone. While the game is a story of good and evil, the lines are unclear as to who is truly bad and who is truly good.
It starts with the Old Sage, leader of Gorm. All things are perfect and in order in the beginning, but he sees visions that lead him to believe that conflict is on the horizon. The conflict comes in the form of Magor ad his Magma Lord rise from Fire Mountain, a volcano. The consume everything, leaving destruction in their wake. When they were through, the lack of competition sent them back to the volcano to await a challenge.
As the Old Sage grieves for his land, he sheds tears that turn into the “Eye of Life” with the ability to create and give life. As time passes, the land returns to its original condition, Old Sage uses the Eye of Life to create four tribes; Earth, Forest, Air and Sea. Each of the tribes needed a leader. Gheos was created to be in charge of Earth, Tasarau lead the Forest people, Noctis the Air tribe and finally, Polypus headed up the Sea.
Magor, seeing a new challenge, sent the Curse of the Purple Bolt to cause chaos and dissension between the tribe leaders. Each of the leaders distrusts the others and battles ensue. It is at this point, that someone needs to come along and salvage the situation and lead the land of Gorm.
Here, the opportunity to play Gormiti begins for children. They can take on the persona of any of the Lord of Nature and work to solve the problems of Gorm. 2 to 4 players can play a Battle Game. Gormiti Atomic Action Figures are placed face to face and a Battle Card is out behind it. Players add up the number on the figure’s foot as well as the number on the card. His opponent does the same. Whoever has the highest number wins the battle and the loser’s figuring is taken out of the game.
Battles happen continually until only one player has figures left in battle who is then considered the winner. There are various characters and figures to play and creativity and imagination are needed to win. Gormiti gives children an opportunity to think and problem solve in a fun and creative way.
