Learn How To Make Extra Money Online

Posted in Make Money Online on February 16th, 2011 by Jim – Comments Off

The internet is BIG, not only is it big – it has quickly become one of the fastest ways for anyone to make a few extra dollars from the comfort of their own homes. Heck, they don’t even have to stay at home. Anywhere there is an internet connection can potentially become your office.

I am an article marketer, but the majority of my articles are written on my iphone whilst I am on the train going to and from work. That iphone has got to be the best investment that I ever made in terms of my internet marketing career. Iphone is a great way to write articles, because they can be easily synced to evernote and then back to your desk top at home. It makes for better productivity, let me tell you!

Anyway, even though my iphone makes me a lot of money due to its ability to be mobile, it is not the reason I am writing this article today. The reason I am writing this article today is to tell you HOW to make extra money on the internet.

So, HOW does one make money on the internet? They write articles and lots of them! What I mean is that there are different kinds of articles. There are well researched articles that are designed to be read with the intention of getting the reader to perform a certain action like clicking through to a product page or inserting their email address into your auto responder or something like that. Then there are articles that are written for the sole purpose of creating links to your website for the purpose of increasing your websites popularity. Increased website popularity results in better search engine rankings and more eyes on your well written articles.

The thing is, that backlinking articles do not need to be as well researched or as well written as the articles that you are writing for your website. Sometimes they just need to be short 150 word blog posts or social bookmarks. A back link is a link to your website, but not every link to your website will be followed by real people. They will be found and followed by search engine spiders, though.

So, stop writing articles exclusively for your website and start spreading the word about all of the articles that you already have on your website.

How To Make Money Blogging — Hone Your Writing Skills

The reality is, if you are going to be a blogger then you will be doing a lot of writing.  That is the nature of the business.  So if you want to learn how to make money blogging then accept the fact that you must be willing to become a good writer.  Don’t worry if you don’t feel like you are a great writer.  Here is some advise that may be of help to you in this area.

1.  You need good posts and lots of them —  You can’t make money blogging without lots of high quality posts on your blog.  Make it easier on yourself and put together a plan before you get started.  Take a look at what some other blogs in your niche are doing.  Do a little research and find out what the hot topics are at the moment.  This will give you some great ideas for you to focus on with your initial posts.  Plan out the first 60-90 days and the going will be much smoother for you.

2.  Do not forget backlinking —  If your blog is going to reach the levels that you want it to then you will need hundreds of backlinks.  This means writing articles that you can post on other blogs and article submission sites.  Although these articles do not need to be the same quality as those that you are posting on your blog, they cannot be crap.  Become good at cranking out this type of content and get as many back links to your blog as possible. These are much shorter and easier to write and the more you do it the better you will get.

3.   If you choose to outsource you still need to be a good writer —  Don’t make the mistake of thinking that since you are going to outsource everything you won’t need to worry about your writing skills.  If you cannot write well then your outsourcing will become a nightmare.  All of your instructions will have to be written.  If you cannot write well enough to provide clear instructions then you will become very frustrated and disappointed.  If your writer can’t understand clearly what you want and how you want it done then your blog will be a big disappointment.

I hope I have made it clear that if you want to learn how to make money with a blog, then good writing skills are essential.  There is no way around this.  Bite the bullet and accept this as fact.  Work on your writing skills and know that you don’t have to start out as a polished writer.  Work at it and you will improve the more you write.  Don’t be shy.  You can do it!

Looking for Low Risk Ways to Make Money Online

It can be very difficult to know where to start when it comes to making money online. The idea of making money with your computer is very tempting, but trying to find legitimate information on the topic can be extraordinarily frustrating to say the least. It seems that every time you do a search and click on a listing, you are confronted with an offer that promises to make you money as soon as you hand over a bundle of your own. In general, these offers are not a good place for a person new to the world of internet marketing to start. You need to learn the basics before you take any major steps, and honestly, most of the offers you see are not worth the time it takes to read them. There are ways to make money online that will not cost you an arm and a leg to get started.

For many people who have no experience with making money online, the best way to start is to sell an actual product. This is very easy to do on sites like eBay and you can start by selling merchandise you already own. That means that there are no upfront costs for acquiring items to sell. eBay in particular makes the process of listing and selling products relatively easy for inexperienced people. It is in their best interest to do this because they make their money by getting a percentage of the final selling price when people use their service. Selling products and shipping them is easy enough, but some people do not like having to handle actual products. For them, affiliate marketing might be the answer.

Affiliate marketing is sort of like when you tell a friend about a great new restaurant that you found. Your friend goes there on your recommendation, buys a meal, and hopefully agrees with you that the place was great. The difference is, when you send people to places on the Internet with one of your affiliate links, you get a commission. Usually the person will have to buy something for you to get any money, but it is still a very nice arrangement for someone who does not want to handle products.

Whichever method you choose, take it slow and don’t start throwing handfuls of money around. With patience and a persistent attitude, you can start making an income over time. Selling on eBay is probably the quickest way to start, but affiliate marketing definitely has its advantages. Look into both and decide which one might be right for you and your current situation.

Outsourcing Link Building

If you want to make money with Google Adsense you have got to get to link building. It’s as certain as death and taxes. What is almost as certain is that when you start writing, and posting on articles directories across the land, first you’ll feel the rush that only human creativity can bring. You’ll feel like you’re learning also and that with ever new article you are improving as a writer, you’re structuring your articles better and your punctuation and grammar are improving. You’ll feel a strange sense of pride as you post those first articles, you have created something new and released it into the world.

Not long after this you will realize that that article took you about twenty minutes to write, and by the end of it you where kind of scrapping the barrel of your knowledge on the subject. Which isn’t helpful because that twenty minute article only yielded two links. You now have to rinse and repeat the process hundred of times. My last two days have been quite productive, Each day I wrote three articles which I posted on Ezine articles and another three which I posted of various Postrunner sites. That is 6 articles a day, with two links in each article. At the moment I am working on Hubpages, so I linked all my articles to two hubs which shared a similar theme. So over the two days I sent those Hubs Twelve links each. The value equation is below.

Articles Writing Time – 20 minutes x 6 Articles written a day = 2 hours writing time = 12 links.

Lets say I value my time at £15.00 an hour. (I’m English, living in London, so I’m writing in pounds, but I will put an approximate dollar value in brackets, so for this one, £15.00 is roughly $21.00)

2 hours x £15.00 a hour = £30.00 ($42.00) / 6 articles a day = £5.00 an article. ($7.50)

£5.00 a article / 2 links an article = £2.50 a link. ($3.75)

Now I need A lot of links, I have 100 Hubs, that I would want to link to from at least 6 Ezine Articles and 6 Post Runner Articles.

So to get twos hub up to standard will take 4 hours of my time. So the total time I’ll use if I write all these links myself will be 100 hubs / 2 because I can link to two hubs per article = 50 hubs x the 12 articles needed to reach the standard = 600 articles x £5.00 worth of my time writing the articles = £3000.00 total value to time to write all the articles.

-

Now lets look at if I was to outsource the same amount of work. 6 – 300 hundred word articles a day. We head to the great guys at the content authority for this and we see how the maths works.

1 Basic level 300 word article with 2 rewrites = £5.20 ($7.80) total cost for 3 articles = £1.70 ($2.60) per article. So for nearly a third of the cost to me to write one article they write three.

How about a higher standard of writing, sometimes basic just isn’t good enough to be accepted.

1 Great level 300 word article with 2 rewrites = £6.20 ($9.30) total cost for 3 articles = £2.06 ($3.10) per article. Still less that half what I would pay in my own time to write one article.

Combine the two to get the six articles I write a day and my costs are £11.40 ($17.10) – This is without taking into account the time I would use to research before I write.

So £11.40 x 2 =  £22.80 (34.20) the cost for the twelve articles I would need to bring my 50 hubs to standard. To £22.80 x 50 = £1140.00 ($1.710) my total outlay on all those articles. More than half what I would pay in terms of my own time. Outsourcing is looking very appealing.

But of course I have to have the funds to be able to pay for these outsourcers everyday. I earn around £170.00 a day so the £11.40 a day for six articles is around 7% of my daily wage. I order to make this work over the next 100 days or so I would have to put aside that 7% and create a schedule that allowed me with easy to commission six articles a day with no hassle or major encumbrance on my daily life. That is my next step.

Sell On Amazon – Why Its A Great Place To Make Money

Posted in Make Money Online on October 4th, 2010 by Jim – Comments Off

In October of 2007, I decided to spend a few hundred dollars on toys and resell them on Amazon. There was a nice sale going on, and I figured I could make a quick profit.

By the time Christmas was over, I had sales of nearly six figures. Why did I do so much more than I originally planned? Because as it turns out, Amazon is a great place to sell stuff.

Why would you want to sell on Amazon? Reason #1: volume. Amazon gets a ridiculous number of customers every day, which means you can either sell mass-market stuff and get a huge number of orders, or sell more specialized stuff and still find customers. They do charge you dearly for the service – generally 15% of each order, although that varies for some categories such as electronics – but they’re well worth it. It annoys me that Amazon has made more off of my business than I have, but then, without them I wouldn’t be making anything at all!

First off: what to sell? Obviously, you’re not going to be able to make anything selling new books on Amazon; they already get them cheaper than anyone else can. You might be able to make a nice profit selling used books, however. I personally got my start (a year or two before I started my real Amazon business) reselling textbooks; if you can find a good source (say, near your school’s buyback center) to pick up used books, you can make a pretty nice profit. Often you can find books that sell well year after year, so you don’t take much risk by stocking up on them. Even with books that have a new edition every year, you can buy them from students at the end of the first semester and resell them for the second semester. Just make sure you describe them accurately!

Of course, Amazon sells a lot more than books…a LOT more. If there’s something you have access to a good supply of, there’s a fair chance that you can make a profit selling it on Amazon. Indeed, Amazon actively pursues sellers who can come up with items they themselves don’t stock in order to increase the variety offered on the site. By becoming a featured seller, you can even have your items featured on the main product page rather than in the third party sellers section with everyone else.
