New Straight Talk Android Phone Out Now

Posted in Cell Phone on October 6th, 2011 by Jim – Comments Off

There is a new Android Straight Talk phone out right now.  You may wonder why this news warrants an entire article written about it.  Well, this is a nice piece of news because now you can utilize the popular Straight Talk unlimited plan with the high end Android platform.  Not only does Android’s platform give you access to email (multiple accounts in fact), it also allows you to download songs, music, and of course applications.  Apps are the cool little programs that let your phone do all kinds of cool things.

Android-Powered Prepaid Phone

The new Straight Talk Android phone is out right now and available on the official website.  It’s called the Samsung Galaxy Precedent, so it’s part of the powerful Galaxy family of Samsung phones.  These phones have done quite well in the marketplace and with all kinds of phone plans.  The Straight Talk Precedent has a solid touch screen and all the nice features you would expect out of an Android smart phone at this price point.  Since I mentioned price, you should know that the phone costs $149 with no contract.  That’s right, you don’t need to sign a contract in order to use this phone.  All you need to do is pay for the phone and then pay for the Straight Talk monthly unlimited service plan.

Straight Talk’s Plans

There are two Straight Talk plans, but only one of them works with this phone.  All of the smart phones from Straight Talk work with the unlimited plan.  It’s just how it works.  But this is the plan you would want anyways with the new Android Straight Talk prepaid smart phone.  Otherwise you would be throttling your talk time, text messages, and Internet browsing.

Other Phones

There is surely a lot of competition out there in the prepaid phone business, so before you make a decision, have a look at some of the “competition.”  Virgin Mobile, T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, AT&T, and even Net10 all have Android phones now or soon will.  MetroPCS so far is one of the leaders in terms of bringing Android Prepaid phones into its plans.  The Family Plan may be worth looking at if you need to provide more than one phone to family members.  See the competition and make an informed decision about the phone you want or need.

Going Inside HTC Thunderbolt’s Software

Test running Verizon’s brand new 4G LTE network is HTC’s new claim to the 4G smart phone arena, the HTC Thunderbolt. The Android-powered smart phone could easily be identified as currently the fastest one in the market in terms of data transfer and speeds, taking advantage of Verizon’s exclusive network. Would the new player in the smart phone game give their counterparts a run for their money? We examine the Thunderbolt’s software to see if matches up.

Fueled by the Android 2.2 (Froyo) Operating System, the HTC Thunderbolt also has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor with the Adreno 205 GPU. The processor guarantees crisper graphics and better video hardware acceleration. Adding up to its uniqueness is the instant boot feature, which we don’t get to see in the smart phones available now in the market. The HTC Sense graphical user interface steals the show by showcasing more appearance versatility via Personalize. Through the Personalize feature, we can choose Scenes that act as profiles to fit any user’s mood or interest. Skins are also applicable, customizing the total look of the phone.

What is this 4G LTE, one might ask? We say kudos to Verizon, because it’s just simply impressive. Download speeds can reach a whopping 15Mbps, and surfing through the phone is almost comparable to surfing on a desktop with the same speeds. Applications that require data connection runs smoothly and without a wink, never sluggish and slow. The 4G LTE also works well with Thunderbolt’s Wi-Fi hotspot feature. The phone can give out speeds above 20 Mbps when used as a Wi-Fi device. If the people want a fast, reliable cellular network, they don’t have to look any further as this phone has exactly that.

The HTC Thunderbolt may be old-fashioned in design in some sense, but when you look past the exterior and appreciate the software, it simply is ground breaking. It delivers mind-blowing internet speeds, easily rivaling any device out there in the market. It also runs on the impressive, fast and customized version of Android. Verizon did an incredible job on keeping the Thunderbolt exclusive to their service, because we suspect more people will jump into their boat once they get a hold of this amazing new smart phone.

Best Straight Talk Phones for Sale

The first thing that attracts a lot of people to Straight Talk Wireless is the Unlimited plan.  With this plan, you get to use unlimited talk time, unlimited web browsing, unlimited text messages, unlimited 411, and unlimited email.  Clearly, it seems a little too good to be true.  It’s not a perfect prepaid plan, but at a price of $45, which is five bucks less than its main competitor’s similar plan (the Boost Mobile Monthly plan), it is a pretty good deal for heavy cell phone users, which is most of use these days.

Right now, on the official website for the company, there are some very good Straight Talk phones for sale.  First, let’s start with the two phones being offered for free right now.  The LG 220C and the LG 290c phones are both available for no charge with one month of payment for either of the two Straight Talk prepaid plans.  This is a good deal–since free is about as good as it gets in terms of pricing–but you might want to take a closer look at the phones.  Aside from the fact that they’re refurbished phones, these two LG handsets are not exactly breaking any sales records.  They’re just not that high quality, but if you don’t need a high quality phone, now you know you can get a couple of Straight Talk phones for the cost of one month of service.

The Samsung r451c is on sale currently at the website and is one of the better deals available from Straight Talk.  It is a slider phone with a lot to offer.  If the unlimited plan is what you need, this is a good phone on which to use it.  Since it slides open to reveal a full keyboard, you will have no problem sending text messages.  The screen is not the best cell phone screen out there, but it will do its job for minor web browsing.  Two other Straight Talk phones on sale are the LG 420G and LG 620G at a price of about $50, but you know my feelings on the LG phones from this company.  Have a look at the deals and see what you like.  If one of these phones fits, it could be a good option for you.  If you don’t like anything that this company offers, some other prepaid companies to look at are TracFone, Net10, and Virgin Mobile, which has a very competitive unlimited prepaid plan out right now.

Getting the Right Blackberry For Your Needs

Posted in Cell Phone on March 21st, 2011 by Jim – Comments Off

As a Blackberry owner, chances are that you are a serious businessman on the move. When we compare side by side Blackberries with other Smart phone operators such as LG, we see a pattern emerging that the serious businessman will go Blackberry where as a buyer for entertainment and social networking might lean towards LG. so it really is of importance to have the correct insurance on your Blackberry. You are carrying around with you a lot of important data which is not only crucial to you personally, but also to your business or corporate firm. So it pays to take out insurance for your Blackberry.

Mobile phone insurance is available for all types of mobile phone, but if we work out the cost, it is generally not viable on cheap model phones, as you may pay a premium of around $10 a month, and in the event of your phone being stolen, you will have to pay the first $100. A quick calculation will allow you to assess if it is worthwhile taking out mobile insurance for your Blackberry, or if the standard warranty that comes with the phone is sufficient.

If you are owner of a new Blackberry, you are unfortunately the target for mobile phone theft, and taking out an insurance policy is good sense as well as peace of mind for you and your business. You can compare insurance policies to find one that suits your individual needs, and walk the streets with peace of mind that your Blackberry is safe and insured against theft, breakage, water damage and more that is not included in a general warranty.

A lot of service providers can offer you extra coverage when signing up for a contract deal so make sure to check out the fine print. Be aware there are a lot of price differences between one service provider and the next and these prices can change per model and per month. Using a comparison site like Berry Deals will get you the lowest current prices within the blink of an eye, whether that be for the amazing Torch 9800 White or any of the other models.
